Firstly – We would like to wish you all a wonderful Easter weekend. Whether you are spending it with your families, or you’re volunteering at the railway to facilitate a great day out for other families, we hope you have a good time!
Secondly – It’s running season! Although many miniature railways have already opened, this weekend will mark the start of running season for many others. Fingers are crossed for sunshine and successful Easter specials this weekend.
We truly hope the 2026 running season is a good one for each and every one of you. If you’re ever in the area of a running railway, or have a day free and fancy something different, please do visit as many different railways as you can this year, the support is invaluable to them all. If you’re able to volunteer, do get in touch with them.
March Recap!
The first of the big orders out in March was this beautifully painted Super Knight. This loco is running over at Eaton Park miniature railway.

The second was the Mardyke Deltic ‘Royal Highland Fusilier’. This twin engine loco had been in for a mechanical overhaul before returning to the railway for service.
Another two carriages were completed and delivered this month, one sit astride and one guards hybrid.
Colin Edmondson stock getting ready to party!
A Scamp and a 7ft sit astride coach made their way through the initial stages of manufacture. Now undergoing painting before being fully assembled and ready to serve a little boys birthday party in a few weeks!

Advanced notice:
The workshop will be closed from Monday 20th April until Wednesday 6th May. Any orders placed during this time will be processed upon their return.
As usual, our social media and email accounts will run as normal.
Behind the scenes:
We are working hard on developing some new products to launch very soon!
Signalling equipment, Colin Edmondson rolling stock & Click&Play Track, more additions to the home build product range and more…
March saw our 11 year anniversary in our current workshop. Which at the time felt more than adequate, felt very small very quickly with the amount of work we have in at once! But an anniversary is a good time to reflect, this map simply shows locations in the UK and NI with our own design stock – not the quantity. Red pins represent Knights, Blue represent Super Knights and yellow carriages. Locos are close to 50 manufactured whilst carriages are nearer 200.

Following on from the sentiment above, it’s important we recognise the incredibly multi-talented man that makes all of this possible. The business began as Chris on his own, and although as time has gone by, we have added more staff and assistance within the workshop, nothing gets out the door without his sign off. The business simply wouldn’t be what it is without him!
Knight:
The little loco that started the entire business almost 16 years ago. With thanks to the wonderful team at North Weald and District Miniature Railway, we have been able to create a brief insight into an afternoons service with CMD Knights.
