This mild steel is cold-drawn to achieve the bright finish. It has a polished appearance which is free from scales or blemishes. The bright finish is a result of the steel being processed in a controlled environment to prevent oxidation. Thus giving it a shiny and smooth look. Made from a low carbon content making it more ductile and easier to weld. It also has good machinability and is typically used in applications requiring moderate strength, such as in bolts, shafts, and rods.
