Description

Imp. Designed by Colin Edmondson.

Imp is a small but solidly engineered half horsepower 7¼” gauge battery electric loco. Equally at home on a garden railway or trundling round your local club track. The Imp shares the same ingenious bolt together design as the very popular Scamp. Controls are simple, a direction switch, a speed controller, a ‘dead man’s’ foot pedal, which cuts power if the driver isn’t on board, and a handbrake working on all four wheels. It takes only a few moments to detach the heavy battery box, making it a lot easier to transport the Imp in the back of the car when visiting other tracks.
Imp is a light duty locomotive and is happy trundling around with one or two carriages. (Actual performance will depend on track conditions, rail type and gradients.)
