Description
Colin Edmondson design.
The Tyke is a development from the Scamp. A loco with a front facing seat.
Tyke has the same pulling power as a Scamp. Designed to be a petrol-electric or battery loco. Also benefitting from a quick changeover possible between the two. Allowing for quiet emission free running in the garden or when at an indoor event plus all day running with passengers at a club.
The transmission consists of a 1.5 horsepower petrol engine driving a 1 horsepower permanent magnet motor used as as a generator or dynamo.
The power generated is fed into a speed controller then through a reversing switch to the two half horsepower drive motors. The generator unit can be removed in a minute and replaced with a battery box to suit your need.
Measurements:
1350mm tall to the top of the roof.
810mm tall from the rail to the top of the controller handle.
