Going Abroad
Hidden behind the wrapping are two CMD carriages and a Knight. These items will be the very first items of stock on a newly built railway in Europe.
Just as luck would have it, the only rainfall that day was when the items were loaded onto the truck!

Volunteers week 1st – 7th June
As we are all very aware, most of our miniature railways are run solely on the care and dedication of their wonderful volunteers. Volunteers are needed as much now as they always are, and each one will have a variety of roles you can get in to.
If you have some spare time and want to get involved, please do speak to a railway near you and see how you can join. Not sure where to start? Head to our directory page where we have a list of a few we can recommend.
As for the benefits of volunteering, they’re endless. You not only learn new skills, find new interests, and feel a true sense of doing good, but you build friendships that last a lifetime and become part of a new little family. A lot of railway volunteers go on to find full time jobs and careers using the skills they’ve learned along the way. This business itself is a product of railway volunteering from an early age! But you don’t have to be young to start, there are plenty of opportunities available for everyone.
Alternatively, just visiting and supporting miniature railways is a great way to give back to their volunteers.

(Can’t be denied that being gifted ice cream on a hot day also goes down very well!)
